Garmin has released a stable software update version 8.11 for the Lily 2 series of smartwatches. The update affects both the standard Lily 2 and Lily 2 Classic versions.

Here's What We Know

The main innovation is the Device Passcode feature - a four-digit PIN code that increases the security of the device.

The feature is already available in the Venu 3 and vivoactive 5 models, and now it has been added to the compact Lily series. Users must enter the password if the watch has not been used for a long time or is removed from the wrist. This reduces the risk of unauthorised access to data.

In addition, the update adds new watch face options, which allows you to better personalise the appearance of the gadget.

Three related updates are mentioned separately: Sensor Hub (v34.12), GCM Translations and Text Translations (both v8.10). Although the exact benefits of these changes have not yet been disclosed, it is likely that they will improve stability and localisation.

The update is already available to all Lily 2 and Lily 2 Classic users via Garmin Express or the Garmin Connect Mobile app. The devices start at $249.99 on Amazon.

Garmin recently launched a new feature called Evening Report, which debuted with the new Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 smartwatches. The Evening Report is a logical extension of the popular Morning Report, which was introduced back in 2021 with the Garmin Lily.
