Garmin has released beta update 24.04 for its Forerunner series smartwatches, which fixes a number of bugs and improves new features.

Here's What We Know

The update affects the Forerunner 165, 255, 265, 955, and 965 models and comes about a month after the 23.20 stable version, which added a new tool for managing the device's password and a breathing variation feature.

Key fixes include a bug that caused crashes when loading a workout and route at the same time. There are also fixes to the display of activity graphs during long workouts, which particularly affected the Forerunner 165, 265 and 965 models, where there were cases of missing breathing variations data.

Forerunner 165 and 255 wearers can now swipe through the Connect IQ widgets seamlessly. Forerunner 255 and 955 models have fixed issues with the analogue watch face and password prompt. And Forerunner 955 and 965 fixes an issue with the altimeter - the altitude sensor that shows your altitude - calibrating when you're skiing in the mountains.

How to get the update

The update has already started rolling out through the beta channel. To manually check for the new version, users should go to the menu: Main Menu, Settings, System, Software Update, Check for Updates.

Garmin recently officially confirmed that some of the features that debuted on the new Forerunner 570 and 970 smartwatches will be available on other models.
