Battlefield 6 is on the way: developers hint at an announcement this summer and prepare "something interesting" for fans
After the announcement of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, players began to wonder if there would be news about the next Battlefield game soon. Luckily, it looks like the combined Battlefield studios are still on schedule and are preparing an announcement for this summer. Andy McNamara, the global senior director of integrated Battlefield communications at EA, hinted that the team is "cooking something up". This may mean that we will soon see the first footage of the new game.
Here's What We Know
When asked if the announcement would take place in June, he replied: "The community will know when the announcement is made. We are focused on Labs and preparing for a summer announcement." It's possible that the trailer could debut at Gamescom in August, if not earlier.
Battlefield 6, as it is unofficially called, is currently scheduled for release sometime before April 2026. In March, the Battlefield Labs initiative was launched with a series of PC playtests covering movement, combat system, and destruction, and, incidentally, there were many gameplay leaks from these tests.
Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson said that more than 600,000 players took part in these playtests in North America and Europe. The initiative will later expand to Asia.
