Mediatek 9500 will get up to 40% increase in gaming and RayTracing technology
MediaTek is working on a new flagship processor, the Dimensity 9500, a chip based on TSMC's N3P (3nm process). According to new leaks, the company has significantly redesigned the video core, which has resulted in up to 40% performance gains in games. The Mali-G1 Ultra MC12 GPU will receive updated ray tracing support with lower power consumption. The new graphics architecture is called Immortalis-Drage and operates at up to 1 GHz.

An updated NPU with a capacity of ~100 TOPS for AI tasks is also reported.
As for the processor architecture, the new product will have 8 cores: 1 the largest Travis architecture core (Cortex-X930, 3.23 GHz), 3 large Alto cores (Cortex-X9, 3.03 GHz), and 4 energy-efficient Gelas cores (Cortex-A730b 2.23 GHz).
According to previous leaks, the new processor has ≈3,900+ single-core and more than 11,000 multi-core, which is significantly better than the Dimensity 9400 (~2,900/9,200) - an increase of 34.5% and 19.6%, respectively. Other notable features include 16MB of L3 cache and 10MB of SLC cache, and support for four LPDDR5X channels up to 10,667MB/s and UFS 4.1.
When and where to expect it
The chip is expected to be available in real devices as early as September 2025. The first smartphones with this processor will be Vivo X300 and Oppo Find X9.
Bottom line.
Mediatek has usually been significantly inferior in terms of performance in games. If the processor performance of their processors has not caused any restrictions for a long time, the limitations of drivers and GPU architecture made such smartphones non-gaming solutions. It seems that the company has realised its weakness and has seriously improved it.
The Dimensity 9500 signals a new era for MediaTek - a chip that can compete with Qualcomm and Samsung in the flagship segment can be very refreshing. It offers state-of-the-art trace technology, AI performance, and CPU performance, which points to a well-balanced product with no obvious weaknesses.
