Battlefield 2042 has received a massive update: the iconic Iwo Jima map has returned to the game, along with new weapons and a new battle pass
Electronic Arts may surprise gamers with a major content update for Battlefield 2042 for Battlefield 2042 is beingprepared, the content of which will be related to the new Battlefield 6 game, has been fully confirmed. Electronic Arts and DICE studio have released patch 9.2.0.
Here's What We Know
The developers added a new map, weapons, vehicles and a free battle pass, but about everything in order.
In Battlefield 2042 they added the map Iwo Jima (Japan), which is familiar to the fans of the series and has already appeared in Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield V, but this time players will see there an active volcano, which will have an impact on gameplay.
The map will be 700×200 metres in size, making it compact but packed with tactical options, and you can land on it not only from the air but also by boat.
New weapons and vehicles
Battlefield 2042 features:
- KFS2000 high-precision assault rifle;
- Lynx semi-automatic anti-material rifle capable of penetrating vehicles and cover. Battlefield 6 beta participants will get it immediately, while others will get it later;
- transports from previous games in the series: A-10 Warthog (USA) and SU-25TM Frogfoot (aggressor country Russia). Both aircraft are excellent at destroying armoured vehicles and are equipped with guided missiles and 30mm cannons.
Free Combat Pass
From 18 August to 7 October there is a 60-level Battle Pass inspired by previous games in the series: Battlefield 1, V, 3, 4 and Bad Company 2.
Among the rewards:
- Over fifty cosmetic items;
- 30 exclusive Battlefield 6 bonuses, available at levels 8, 19, 30, 40, 49 and 60.
Activities and Art Series
The Best of Portal event kicks off from 2 to 30 September, with playlists with the best custom modes updated every 48 hours. The Community Art Series will also begin, where fan artwork is turned into game cards. The first collection is dedicated to Battlefield Friends.
Balance and Fixes
The update includes rebalancing of weapons and vehicles, interface improvements, and bug fixes. For example, the NTW-50 rifle has increased damage on light vehicles.
Update 9.2.0 is already available on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. It's likely to be the final major update before Battlefield 6 releases on 10 October.
