MediaTek officially unveils Dimensity 9500 - a transition to the most advanced architecture
On 22 September 2025, MediaTek unveiled its latest flagship mobile chipset, the Dimensity 9500, designed for next-generation premium smartphones. It is based on TSMC's advanced 3nm process technology and offers significant improvements in AI processing, gaming console-level graphics, and overall power efficiency.
The latest computing cores
As expected, the new processors are based on the recently announced Armv9.3 architecture. The Dimensity 9500 has 8 cores: one C1-Ultra at 4.21 GHz with 2 MB of L2 cache, three C1-Super at 3.5 GHz (1 MB of L2 cache) and four C1-Pro cores at 2.7 GHz with 512 kb of L2 cache. MediaTek claims a 32% performance boost for single-core and 17% for multi-core tasks compared to its predecessor. At the same time, power consumption is reduced by 55% at peak load.
Next-generation AI
The updated NPU 990 with the Generative AI Engine 2.0 provides twice the processing power for large models and reduces power consumption by 33%. This enables 4K images to be generated twice as fast, with 56% higher efficiency than the previous version.
Console-level graphics
The new ARM G1-Ultra GPU delivers 33% better performance and 42% higher power efficiency. It supports interpolation up to 120 frames per second with active ray tracing. MediaTek has partnered with studios to support MegaLights in Unreal Engine 5.6 and Nanite in Unreal Engine 5.5.
Enhanced ISP
The Imagiq 1190 ISP supports cameras up to 320MP, 30fps continuous focus, 4K 60fps portrait mode, and 4K 120fps Dolby Vision recording with electronic stabilisation. MiraVision Adaptive Display technology adapts contrast and colour saturation to the lighting in real time.
Other features
The Dimensity 9500 supports WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, Dual SIM Dual Active 5G/4G, LPDDR5X RAM up to 10.7 Gbps, UFS 4.1, and satellite positioning systems (GLONASS, GPS, NavIC, etc.). The advanced modem supports 5th generation Sub-6GHz 5CC-CA networks up to 7.4Gbps. For high-speed data transfer, support for 4-lane UFS 4.1 memory is implemented.
The first smartphone to feature Dimensity 9500 will be the Vivo X300, which will debut in China on 13 October 2025.
