Today is a big day for Battlefield 6 fans - the first season of the popular shooter has started and the conditionally free RedSec mode has become available.

What we know

The start of the first season was preceded by a major update, in which the developers fixed a lot of bugs and adjusted the balance of Battlefield 6.

The first season brought in the game map Blackwell Fields, which is a field with oil production facilities, on which the use of ground armoured vehicles, planes and helicopters is allowed.

In addition, Strikepoint mode, the Traverser Mark 2 armoured vehicle and several cannons have been added to the shooter.

Everyone can already dive into the battles of RedSec mode, which, in fact, is a separate game in the Battle Royale genre.

Up to a hundred people can participate in Battlefield 6 RedSec matches, divided into teams of 2-4 players (single players are also allowed). For this mode created a special large-scale map - Fort Lyndon, located in Southern California, and will also provide a huge amount of equipment and armoured vehicles.

The conditions are familiar to the Battle Royale genre: players land on the map without equipment, must quickly find the necessary items and destroy competitors. Over time, the ring of fire will shrink in a random part of the map and eventually the winner will be the team whose players survive.

The main difference from other games of this genre is that players who find themselves outside the ring will instantly die, which leaves no margin for error.

RedSec includes a separate mode Gauntlet, which involves the competition of eight squads of four players to complete missions.

Recall that on the 18th of November another map will be added to the game - Eastwood, which looks like an elite residential complex with private development in California. There will also appear new modes and weapons. And on the 9th of December Battlefield 6 will launch the third chapter of the first season called Winter Offensive.

Battlefield 6 is available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
