Console gamers rejoice: Far Cry 3, Blood Dragon, and Far Cry Primal now run at 60 FPS on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series
Ubisoft kept its promise and released important updates for three Far Cry series games, making their gameplay more comfortable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
What is known
Now the iconic Far Cry 3 (Classic Edition), the standalone satirical supplement Blood Dragon (Classic Edition), and the spin-off Far Cry Primal about the clan struggles of Neanderthals and mammoth hunting are available on current generation consoles with a frame rate of 60 FPS.
Previously, these games could be launched on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series through backward compatibility, but despite the significantly increased capabilities of modern consoles, FPS almost never exceeded 40 frames.
Unfortunately, the graphics remained at the previous level, but the gameplay has become much smoother, as confirmed by videos from various bloggers.
Recall that earlier Ubisoft released similar patches for Thanks to Game Pass, Far Cry: New Dawn on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 will now support 60 FPS and Far Cry 4 (April 2025).
This year, the announcement of a completely new part of the franchise is expected, and the release of updates for previous games is an excellent way to revive the console audience's interest in the popular shooter series.
