Apple Watch and Galaxy Watch competitor: Fossil Group is working on a Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch with a new version of Wear OS
Fossil Group Chief Commercial Officer Greg McKelvey and Senior Vice President of Connected Devices Steve Prokup were interviewed by CNET sharing some of the company's plans.
What we know
So, the manufacturer has no plans to update its current line of smart watches to the next version of Wear OS. Instead, Fossil is already working on the new model that will get the system out of the box. The watch will be named Fossil Gen 6.
The novelty will feature the new software version. In addition, the gadget will have improved performance, battery life, and health tracking functions. The company's representatives have not yet revealed the launch day of the watch, but said that it will have a round display and many different straps.
When to expect
Fossil Gen 6 will be released in the fall. The novelty will be positioned as a competitor to Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch.
