The upcoming release of GTA VI, scheduled for November 19, 2026, is an event that all major publishers and developers have to reckon with. Many companies are adjusting their plans so that their new releases do not end up in the shadow of the most anticipated game in the industry's history, and even Activision is no exception.

What is known

The company has not yet announced the next part of Call of Duty, but since they have been released annually for more than twenty years in a row, there is no reason to think that franchise fans will be left without a new game this coming fall.

Authoritative insider CharlieINTEL, who has long proven to receive information directly from Activision, replied to a user's question that the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 (it is believed that this is the game's title) is scheduled for October 2026.

This information is not sensational, but in recent years Call of Duty games have often been released in November, and it is quite obvious that such release dates are not accidental — Activision clearly does not want to compete for the public's attention with GTA VI.

Recall, An insider about which Call of Duty fans will feel bad: Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer will become an “exact copy” of the failing MW2 (2022) that Activision continues to resort to reusing its developments, and Call of Duty 2026 multiplayer will become an "exact copy of Modern Warfare 2 (2022)" — one of the most failed parts of the series. According to him, gamers will be offered the same gameplay except for increased perk reload times and reduced aiming and sliding speed penalties.

However, significant technical improvements can be expected in Modern Warfare 4, as Call of Duty is expected to finally stop appearing on last-generation consoles (PS4 and Xbox One), allowing developers to add more modern technologies to the shooter.
