Opel Rocks-e: a compact electric car for two that even schoolchildren can drive
Opel has announced a compact electric car called Rocks-e.
What is knownThe novelty, in fact, is a renamed version Citroen Amiwhich was shown last year. Appearance and interior of the car is almost the same, except for colors, as well as some details.
The car got the length of 2.41 m, width of 1.39 m and a mass of 471 kg (including battery). By the way, the battery is 5.5 kWh. It's powered by a 6kW electric motor. On a single charge the car should be able to run up to 75 km on the cycle WLTP. Its top speed is 45 km/h. It can be charged from a household outlet. Charging time is 3.5 hours.
Given the size of Opel Rocks-e, in some European countries the novelty is not a car, so in Germany, for example, it can be driven even by children from 15 years. True, there is one condition - a child should have a driving license of AM category. In fact, it is such alternative to an electric scooter.
The interior of Opel Rocks-e accommodates two people. The boot space is 63 liters. The novelty also has 14-inch wheels, LED headlights, and doors that open backwards.
Price and when to expectSales of Opel Rocks-e will start in autumn in Germany. In other countries, the city-car will appear in 2022. The car's price has not yet been announced by the manufacturer, but it is likely to be around 6,000-8,000 euros.
