Tested by fire, sand and force: did the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 survive the JerryRigEverything test?

Blogger JerryRigEverything has already managed to get and test the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 foldable smartphone.

And

 how?

Perhaps durability - is the most important criterion for a device with a flexible display. With the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Samsung said it has developed a new screen coating that is 80% stronger, and a frame made of the most durable aluminum alloy.

As JerryRigEverything found out, the coating is still the weak side of the gadget: it can easily be scratched with sharp objects or even a fingernail. If the external display, protected by ordinary glass, scratches only objects with a hardness of  6 on Mohs scale, on the internal one immediately leaves traces - already at mark "2". But the new stylus will not damage the coating in any way: its tip is softer and hides in the case when pressed too hard.

but sand and small stones the internal display is not afraid anymore. Recall that in the first generation Galaxy Fold scattered sand got inside the hinge mechanism, after which the smartphone started making squeaking noises while opening and closing  The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has no such thing: sand does not get anywhere and does not affect functionality. What can't be said about fire: open flame leaves traces on screen, which don't disappear anywhere.

But the most interesting was the traditional test for durability, and folding phone passed it at "excellent". No matter how blogger tried to break or bend the case, it did not succumb, and the gadget continued working like nothing   ever.
