According to Chinese insider Ice Universe, the 200-megapixel sensor will debut tomorrow, September 2. It will be shown along with the ISOCELL sensor GN5 50 MP sensor. Unfortunately, there are no details about the novelty yet, but it is rumored that such a sensor will be the first smartphone Xiaomi will receive. Perhaps it will be the company's next flagship device - Xiaomi 12.

By the way, 200MP is not the limit. Back in April Samsung announced the development of a sensor with record resolution - 600 MP. According to company representatives, such sensors "will be able to capture more details than the human eye". But, in all likelihood, their application will not be in smartphones, but in drones, autonomous vehicles, IoT devices, etc .
