OPPO has unveiled a new version of its proprietary software, ColorOS 12. The firmware will be built on the Android 12 operating system and the stable build will be released in the middle of the fourth quarter of 2021.

What's new?

The company has tried to pay attention to the graphical interface of the firmware. New system icons, more voluminous text and 20,000 markers emoji were added, which allow to create a more accurate three-dimensional model for video calls, account avatars and so on. By the way, they are called Omoji.

Developers have improved the dual windows mode and added support for interaction with computers running on Windows 10 operating system. Now owners of smartphones based on ColorOS 12 software will be able to edit documents and view notifications directly on the PC.

The firmware added a counterpart to Android Auto, which works with services like Baidu Maps, AutoNavi, Kuwo and Ximalaya. But all this is relevant for China. Perhaps in the global version of the software we simply will not see it. We also would like to mention the Quantum Animation Engine 3.0 for smoother system animations and AI Self-Smooth Engine 2.0 for lower power consumption and more economical memory usage.
