DJI Mavic 3: new security features, improved uptime and an upgraded camera with a price tag starting at $2199
DJI held a presentation announcing its new drone - Mavic 3.
What is known
The folding drone is equipped with a dual camera. The first sensor is a 162mm telephoto lens with 28x hybrid zoom, while the second is a 24mm Hasselblad lens. It can take 20-megapixel photos and shoot video at 5.1K 50fps or 4K 120fps. The new image sensor provides higher video resolution. It also boasts improved night shooting and an adjustable aperture from f/2.8 to f/11.
Mavic 3 also gets new obstacle detection sensors and ActiveTrack 5.0 feature, which uses an updated positioning algorithm to track objects. It includes signals from GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou satellites. The drone also gets AirSense system, which alerts the pilot to nearby planes and helicopters.
Another important change in the novelty is an increased battery. Under good conditions, the drone is now capable of flying for up to 46 minutes. Other innovations include improved flyback function and upgraded video transmission system in challenging conditions. By the way, along with the Mavic 3 also introduced several accessories, including a new controller with increased transmission distance, a 65W portable charger, a carrying bag, a 108-degree wide-angle lens, and more.
Price and when to expect
DJI Mavic 3 has already started selling on the company's official website. The standard version of the drone costs $2199, while the Fly More Combo with optional accessories and batteries is $2999. The Mavic 3 Cine Premium Combo has also gone on sale for $4999. It features 1TB storage and the ability to record Apple ProRes 422 HQ video.
