Zoom for Windows and macOS finally has an auto-update feature
Timely updates are important because they not only provide new features and capabilities, but are also used to fix software bugs and other vulnerabilities that can be exploited by hackers to launch cyberattacks and infect your devices with malware.
Like other software companies, Zoom regularly releases updates to its desktop clients and mobile apps. However, not all of these updates are manually installed by end users, which could put their devices and data at risk.
For this reason, Zoom is introducing a new feature to automatically update its Windows and macOS client applications to ensure that all users are using the latest version of their software before starting a conversation.
How to activate auto-update
According to a new blog post by Zoom, in order to enable automatic updating on its Windows or macOS clients, you first need to open the program's settings menu, go to the General tab, and select the "Update my Zoom automatically" option.
You will then be prompted for administrator credentials to enable the automatic update feature, but this will only be required the first time you enable this setting.
