Reuters: Xi Jinping tells Bill Gates he welcomes US artificial intelligence technology to China

Chinese President Xi Jinping discussed the global rise of artificial intelligence with US billionaire and Microsoft founder Bill Gates.

Here's What We Know

According to sources familiar with the talks, Xi welcomed US firms that supply AI technology to China. They also discussed Microsoft's business development in the PRC.

The official account of the meeting, published by Chinese state media, contains no comment on artificial intelligence. Gates also did not mention it in his report.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation did not comment on the information. Microsoft also did not respond to media enquiries.
