Vimeo unveils AI-powered video editing tools for beginners

Video platform Vimeo has released AI-powered tools that should make it easier for content creators to edit their videos.

Company officials say that most people "lack the skills, time, or resources to effectively create and edit videos" The new features are designed to remove these barriers.

Vimeo has introduced three tools in total. The first can automatically remove long pauses and parts of videos with parasitic words like "um" and "ah". Users also have the option of searching for specific words and paragraphs in a transcript to delete or create shorter video segments.

The second tool is the text cue script generator. The user can adjust the text length and tone. The feature is based on OpenAI GPT.

The company also introduced an on-screen teleprompter that can display scripts with a set font size and tempo. This can help creators maintain eye contact with the camera.

Price & When We Can Expect It

All three tools will be available in July as part of the Vimeo Standard and Pro plans. Subscriptions start at $20 a month (with an annual fee). The company also provides a seven-day trial period.
