OpenAI called Elon Musk's lawsuit "frivolous" and dictated by commercial interests

OpenAI has sharply condemned the lawsuit filed against it by Elon Musk, calling the Tesla CEO's claims "frivolous" and aimed only at "to advance his commercial interests".

In an official response to the lawsuit, OpenAI denied many of Musk's main allegations. The company denies the existence of any "Founding Agreement" infringement alleged in the lawsuit, calling it a "fiction" to claim rights to OpenAI's achievements.
According to OpenAI, Musk's claims are based on "convoluted - often incoherent - factual premises". The company believes Musk's true interest in the lawsuit is not related to his stated goals of improving humanity, but rather to his desire to strengthen his position as OpenAI's AI competitor.
"Seeing the remarkable technological advances OpenAI has achieved, Musk now wants that success for himself," the statement said.
Musk filed the lawsuit against OpenAI earlier this month, escalating a long-running feud between him and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. They founded the company in 2015, but leadership disputes led to Musk's departure in 2018.
Their relationship has become more adversarial in recent years amid OpenAI's success with products like ChatGPT.
