Apple has launched a new service - testing the Apple Watch Ultra smartwatch for water resistance
Apple has published a new support document that offers a new service for owners of the Apple Watch Ultra smart watch.
Details
Users can now request Apple to check the watch for water resistance. Initially, the Apple Watch Ultra can withstand being submerged underwater to a depth of 100m and allows not only a variety of water sports, but also scuba diving. However, certain occurrences (e.g. drops and bumps) can lead to imperceptible damage that affects protection.
It is precisely this kind of damage that is checked by Apple employees. They carry out a visual inspection of the watch for visible damage, and if the device appears undamaged, Apple will then check the water seals and depth gauge.
The company warns, however, that checking the depth and depth gauge can put the device out of commission if there is any damage. And then there will already be a repair fee, as such cases are not covered by the warranty.
Also, keep in mind that the inspection takes 7 to 10 working days. Whether this service is chargeable or free of charge is not specified.
