Apple has announced a flagship smartwatch aimed at professional athletes. The new product is called the Apple Watch Ultra.

Here's What We Know

The watch has a 49-mm case made of titanium. The display is framed by a special frame that protects it from damage, and there is a sapphire crystal on top. Also the Apple Watch Ultra has an enlarged Digital Crown wheel, an additional speaker and a new programmable Action Button. The manufacturer claims that the buttons are comfortable to use when wearing gloves.

The Apple Watch Ultra offers users special dials and new metrics. For more accurate positioning in major cities, there is an updated GPS navigation module with L1+L5 support.

The wearable gadget can withstand being submerged underwater to a depth of 100 meters. During a dive, the watch can measure water temperature, display bottom topography and route. It also claims compliance with the EN 13319 standard, which will please fans of scuba diving.

Apple Watch Ultra can work 36 hours without recharging, what the competitors can not boast. There is a special mode, when you activate it, the watch will only need to be charged twice a month. Another new feature is the siren, which must be heard at a distance of up to 190 m. The watch can also take ECG and determine the level of oxygen saturation in the blood.

Price

The price of the Apple Watch Ultra is $799 excluding taxes. The watch supports cellular communication. Sales will begin on September 23.
