For this amount, the US will be able to receive an increased number of upgraded MLRS to the M270A2 version. The upgraded version of the systems received an updated cockpit, a new fire control system, as well as the ability to launch PrSM missiles with a range of up to 500 kilometres. Thanks to the modernisation, the US Army will be able to extend the service life of the MLRS until 2050.
