Russia started to dismantle Sukhoi Superjet 100, Airbus 350 and Boeing 737s for parts due to sanctions
Major Russian companies, led by Aeroflot, are forced to dismantle planes to obtain parts that cannot be imported.
What we know
According to sources of Reuters, Russian aviation companies are forced to take parts from some planes in order to keep other aircrafts in operation. Such recommendations were received from the Russian government back in early summer. This will allow other foreign-made airliners to continue flying until 2025.
Sukhoi Superjet 100 and Airbus 350 of Aeroflot have already started the process. Also the Russians began disassembling Boeing 737s and Airbus 320s to obtain spare parts for identical planes. Russia's Transport Ministry and Aeroflot have not yet responded to Reuters' request for comment on the information.
