Google finally revealed its first foldable smartphone, the Pixel Fold, at the I/O 2023 event. As it turns out, the company was developing another similar product at the same time.
Here's What We Know
This was revealed in an episode of the official Made By Google podcast by Google's head of hardware product design, Ivy Ross. According to him, the device was cancelled because it "wasn't good enough".
Unfortunately, what kind of smartphone it was, Ross didn't say. We can only assume that it was a clamshell and a competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Flip. Whether Google is planning to return to developing a new product in the future remains to be seen.
