Catan, the popular multiplayer board game that has sold over 32 million copies since its release in 1995, is now available on Nintendo Switch.
Here's What We Know
In the game, players take on the role of settlers on the island of Catan, competing to build settlements, cities, roads and armies to gain control of the region.
The Nintendo Switch port of the console version is now available for $19.99 or £16.99 for the standard version. Additionally, two special edition versions are available: Deluxe Edition for $24.99 or £19.99, which includes the base game and five additional Championship boards used in real-life Catan World, European and American championships. The Super Deluxe Edition costs $29.99 or £24.99 and includes the base game, five Championship boards and the game's first expansion, The Helpers.
The expansion adds 12 new characters called "Helpers", each with unique skills that give players an edge in the development of their settlements.
The game can be played both locally and online in multiplayer mode, and there is also a single player mode where players can summon artificial intelligence, each with its own playstyle and strategy.
