The former GTA producer is joined by veterans of Sony, 2K and NCSoft
Leslie Benzies is the former president of Rockstar North and producer of the Cranf Theft Auto series. He currently runs the Build A Rocket Boy studio, which is engaged in the ambitious project Everywhere. Something big happened recently in Build A Rocket Boy replenishment.
Who works with Benzies now?
- Head of development Mick Hawking. Former VP of Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe and co-founder and head of Evolution Studios (MotorStorm, Driverclub).
- Senior Vice President of Global Marketing Murray Panel. From 2009 to 2012, he was the head of marketing at Ubisoft, and from 2016 to 2020-1 - the vice president of the European publishing branch of 2K Games.
- Head of publishing business Randall Price. For 12 years, he held the position of senior vice president for international business at Arena Net, and also worked in the publishing wing of the American branch of NCSoft.
According to the words of Benzies, all three bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and passion for their craft to Build A Rocket Boy. The studio is going to share other news during 2022.
What is "Everywhere" Benzies doesn't say yet, but judging by some hints, it's a version of the metaverse. A brief description of the project appeared in May:
"A AAA open world game with multiplayer and an epic message, broken into many chapters, and user content created in a 'virtual song'. There, players can create their own worlds, strong social connections and streaming integration."
At the same time, Everywhere was described as "The first player to prepare", only in reality. The development has been going on for several years, and investors seem to believe in success and willingly allocate money.
