It all depends on the gamers: the developers of A Plague Tale do not exclude the third part in the series, but only with a favorable reaction of the public to Requiem
On the eve of the release of A Plague Tale: Requiem, PlayStation.Blog published an interview with the project's director Kevin Choteau.
Details
In the conversation he told a lot of interesting information about the development of both the first and second parts of A Plague Tale, and also shared what principles guided Asobo Studio in creating the sequel, and what emotions they wanted to evoke in players.
We wrote about all of this a few days ago, but now focus on another detail, which was heard in the interview.
When asked if Requiem will be the finale of Amicia and Hugo's story, Kevin Choteau said that the possibility of a sequel to A Plague Tale depends on the public reaction to the second part.
I think that's the end of it for now. But we leave that door always open and see what the reaction of the players will be. We need to gauge reception before we decide anything, because gamers are the driving force behind our production, and if they don't like what we've done, then we need to do something else.
Considering that the first part of the game gained some popularity among gamers, and the second part is getting good reviews, albeit with some reservations about technical problems (and who doesn't have them at release?), the likelihood of a sequel to A Plague Tale looks pretty optimistic.
