343 Industries shared an image from the early stages of Halo 2 development
Microsoft has released official documentation for the modding tools for Halo: The Master Child Collection, in particular for the second and third numbered parts of the series, and later it is planned to release it for other parts.
As an modder Kiera from Halo noticed on Twitter, some of the documentation for Halo 2 contains materials directly from Bungie around the early 2000s. Along with it are several development images that few people have seen until now.
The interesting thing about these images is that they show the inner workings of Halo 2. For example, on one of them we can see "screenshot_cubemap". Of course we do not know what exactly it does, but based on the documentation, it is designed to create reflective surfaces.
The other pair of images shows debugging information, listing data about when the model uses certain weapons or plays different animations.
