Firaxis news: a new installment of Civilization is already in development, with director Steve Martin and Marvel's Midnight Suns and XCOM game director Jake Solomon leaving the company

The news day from Firaxis Games continues.

We previously reported that Firaxis has announced a major add-on for Marvel's Midnight Suns, and the game will be available for free on Steam over the weekend.

Now more global news has been revealed.

Studio director Steve Martin and Marvel's Midnight Suns and XCOM series gamemaker Jake Solomon are leaving the company. They've been with Firaxis for 27 and 23 years respectively, but it's time for a change. No reason for their resignation has been given, but it may be due to the financial failure of Marvel's Midnight Suns.

The second piece of news is more positive and will please fans of the Civilization series. The game's Twitter account has posted that a new part of the 4X-strategy is already in development.
