Atari announces purchase of Nightdive Studios, developer of remakes and remasters of iconic games
Once-popular game console maker Atari has announced the purchase of Nightdive Studios, a developer that specialises in releasing remakes and remasters of classic games.
Nightdive Studios has worked on game updates such as Doom 64, Quake, System Shock (and a remake of the first part), Blood and other projects. The company will now become part of Atari's internal studios and help the new partner execute long-term plans.
Both companies are mainly involved in retro projects, so their interests are much the same.
The amount of the deal was $10 million.
