App developers ask iPhone owners not to upgrade to iOS 16: why?
Apple recently released the final version of iOS 16, and, of course, things did not go smoothly. Some app developers ask users to hold off on the update (if you haven't already installed it) because of a bug they found.
Here's What We Know
The problem is the system's triple-tap gesture, which is designed to open the undo/cut/copy/paste menu, as well as the three-finger swipe gesture for undo and redo. After installing iOS 16, these gestures work even where they shouldn't - in games and virtual instrument music apps, for example. Most normal apps will work fine because they rely only on one-finger touch. But in applications that require the use of quick tap sequences, it can disrupt the entire gameplay, causing the player to fail a level.
By the way, a very similar problem arose back at the time of the launch of iOS 13, when the three-finger menu was first added. But then Apple quickly fixed it and made it so that gestures are not activated in situations where the user hardly needs these actions. Everything worked fine in iOS 15, but something went wrong in iOS 16.
Apple has not yet officially acknowledged the problem, so when it will be fixed is unknown.
