Amazon's The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power has become the most expensive multi-episode series in history. About half a billion dollars was spent on the production of the first season, but such a huge budget did not help to win the love of the public.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, in the US only 37% of viewers watched Rings of Power to the end, while the global figure was only 45%. These are very low figures for such a large and expensive project, and clearly not the result which Amazon had hoped for.

According to the editors of The Hollywood Reporter, work in Amazon's film division is unproductive and chaotic, so the quality of TV series produced by Amazon Prime is far below their potential and investment.

It is known that Amazon is already working on a second season of The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power. Management expects to attract and retain many more viewers to their screens, but unless they rethink their approach, a continuation of the series is unlikely to be more successful than the first season.
