Norway, following the USA, has announced a new military aid package for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The Norwegian defence procurement authority Forsvarsmateriell and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace have unveiled a new version of the NASAMS air defence system. The first demonstration test of the short-range surface-to-air missile system took place in late May 2023.

This was revealed by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda. It is about two launchers of SAMs. Unfortunately, it is not known when the deliveries will start.

Lithuanian forces have deployed a NASAMS surface-to-air missile system for the first time. This was announced by the Lithuanian Armed Forces press service.

The US Sixth Fleet and the NATO Naval Strike and Support Force (STRIKFORNATO) have launched Exercise Formidable Shield 2023. The event takes place in the High North and North Atlantic Ocean.

At the end of 2022, the Ukrainian Armed Forces received two batteries of NASAMS air defence systems from the USA. A few months later, the military showed a rare video of the foreign air defence system.

Estonia plans to get its own air defence systems, but this will take at least two years. Other countries will be protecting the airspace in the meantime. In particular, Spain, which this week sent NASAMS air defence systems to Estonia.

The Spanish Armed Forces are going to deploy a NASAMS air defence system in Estonia.

Raytheon Missiles & Defense and Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace partnered with the United States Air Force Research Laboratory's Office of Strategic Development Planning and Experimentation to conduct a first-of-its-kind air base defense experiment.

In the near future Ukraine will receive  air defense systems NASAMS and will become the first country in the world to use them against Russian missiles.
