Engineers created a four-legged MARVEL robopass that can walk on walls and even the ceiling (video)

Engineers from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology designed and created an unusual MARVEL robot dog. As you have already understood from its name, the robot is inspired by superheroes from the MARVEL universe, more specifically by Spider-Man.

Here’s What We Know 

The main feature of the robopass is that it can walk on walls and even the ceiling. But only on metal ones, since he moves with magnetized feet (or paws?). The engineers used electromagnets and magnetic elastomers that can be magnetized and demagnetized as the robot moves.

In addition, the four-legged robot is able to bypass obstacles like beams and carry weights of up to 3 kg. An experiment in a video showed a robot dog successfully climbing an old rusty tank while avoiding places that lacked metal.

Such a robot can come in handy during repair work on bridges, production tanks and buildings.
