What else is there to make money on? Twitter to make two-factor SMS authentication a paid service

Since the purchase of the company by Elon Musk, Twitter has continued to actively seek out new sources of revenue. And now the social network has come up with a new way to make money.

Here's What We Know

The Twitter team has announced that two-factor authentication via SMS will soon only be available for accounts with Twitter Blue, a subscription that now costs $8 a month.

This method involves confirming login to the service via SMS. Instead, users who don't want to pay will be able to use other forms of authentication: apps like Google Authenticator and 1Password or an electronic key that syncs via USB, Bluetooth or NFC.

Two-factor authentication via SMS will become part of the Twitter Blue subscription on 20 March. And from 18 February, free accounts cannot choose SMS as their authentication method.
