AMD plans to introduce a new Z2 Extreme console chip in early 2025, which will be the successor to the Ryzen Z1 Extreme used in Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go devices. The announcement was made by Jack Huynh, AMD's head of computing and graphics technologies, at IFA in Berlin. An AMD spokesperson confirmed that the company is working with several partners and the chip is likely already in the hands of portable device makers.
