The Armed Forces of Ukraine have shown a "secret weapon" in the war against Russia - a unique Ukrainian armored vehicle "Gadfly", which is available in a single copy

We've already seen at the front HIMARS, CAESAR, M777 and other equipment, but now the Armed Forces of Ukraine have decided to play tricks and started using the Ukrainian armored vehicle called "Gadfly".

What is known

The armored car was developed in a single copy, but despite this, it is also used by military personnel. The vehicle was developed in 2015 and built on the basis of the Soviet GAZ-66 truck. Wheel formula - 4x4.

The "Gadfly" is armed with a 12.7 mm NSV-12.7 Utyos machine gun. It is installed on the roof of the troop compartment. The vehicle supports the installation of hinged armor weighing up to 200 kg to improve protection to the third level according to the standard STANAG 4569.

Hyundai engines are mounted on the front side. The crew consists of two people. The troop compartment is located in the central part of the vehicle. "Gadfly" can reach speeds of 95 km / h on the highway.

You will not believe, but the "Gadfly" has a drawback. The armored car has a cramped cabin and small hatches. Therefore, military personnel cannot comfortably fit into the vehicle and quickly leave it.
