The BMP-1AM "Basurmanin" is a rare modification of the BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicle, and one of them has already been destroyed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
What we know
The military released a video showing what was left from an enemy infantry fighting vehicle. But the main thing is that the combat module was not damaged.
BMP-1 has about a dozen modifications. The BMP-1AM "Basurmanin" variant appeared in 2018. In running order, the machine weighs more than 14,000 kg. The crew consists of three people, and the troop compartment is designed for eight soldiers.
The BMP-1AM "Basurmanin" is equipped with a UTD-20C1 engine with 300 HP. The infantry fighting vehicle also has the R-168-25U-2 digital system and a remotely controlled combat module from the BTR-82A armored personnel carrier.
