Italy is ready to start sending heavy weapons to Ukraine similar to those sent by the Netherlands and Germany.
What we know
Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said this in an interview with Politico, referring to Rome's statements. The official also called on NATO partners to step up arms supplies to Ukraine.
It is not yet known what exactly Italy will send. It is not excluded that it will be German PzH 2000 howitzers with a range of 30 km.
Mr Rutte also recalled that the Netherlands and Germany have already sent a dozen of artillery units PzH 2000 to Ukraine. Three more howitzers the country hands over soon.
