The Ukrainian military showed in action the American M47 Dragon-2 missile defense system, the transfer of which had not been announced
It seems that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received American anti-tank missile systems M47 Dragon-2.
What we know
A video has appeared on the net (there is some profanity), which shows a Ukrainian serviceman firing from M47 Dragon 2. Neither Ukraine nor the US has announced the transfer of these anti-tank missile kits. Perhaps M47 Dragon-2 is not used in combat, but only used in training to simulate firing with Javelin.
M47 Dragon-2 is a portable missile system designed to destroy armored vehicles. It was developed in 1992 as an improved version of M47 Dragon-1, which appeared in 1970. The APC can hit targets at distances of 65-1000 m. The missile Dragon-2 is equipped with a powerful warhead with armor penetration up to 95 cm.
In 1996 the US Army replaced anti-tank missile systems M47 Dragon with more modern anti-tank missile systems Javelin.
