A member of the National Guard of Ukraine showed a Swedish AT4 disposable grenade launcher in action
Fighters of the National Guard of Ukraine showed in action the Swedish AT4 grenade launcher.
What we know
The grenade launcher is designed to destroy armored targets, including armored vehicles and light tanks, but is also used to eliminate defensive structures. The source writes that with the help of AT4 it was possible to destroy a warehouse with ammunition. Whether this is true or the video is so edited, we do not know yet. But in any case we saw the Swedish grenade launcher in action.
AT4 was developed in 1981 and entered service six years later. The grenade launcher weighs 6.7 kg and is just over 1 m long. The caliber is 84 mm. The weapon uses grenades with armor penetration up to 500 mm. It has a maximum muzzle velocity of 290 m/s.
AT4 can hit targets at a distance of up to 2.1 km. Aiming range is 300 m. One piece costs about $1500. Ukraine has received at least 21,000 grenade launchers - 6,000 from the US and 15,000 from Sweden.
