What we know
The 28th Separate Mechanized Knights of the Winter Campaign Brigade published a spectacular video of the use of a battery of American self-propelled howitzers on Facebook.
The M109 is an American 155mm artillery piece that was developed between 1953 and 1960. Series production began in 1962. M109 immediately became the main artillery unit of the American army, replacing M108.
The arsenal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has more than a hundred units M109. Last month it was reported that Norway transferred 20 self-propelled artillery systems. Another 22 units were purchased for Ukraine by Great Britain.
