Ukraine is the first in the world to test modern German shells - about 30 units of Russian armored vehicles were destroyed
The Ukrainian Armed Forces were the first in the world to test modern projectiles received from Germany. Accordingly, the Russian army was the first in the world to test their power.
What we know
It is about rockets of 155 mm caliber SMArt, which have self-targeting warheads. Ukraine received them together with German self-propelled artillery units Panzerhaubitze 2000.
In early July the first video appeared showing how SMArt 155 are used in combat conditions. The second video we published this week. Between the appearance of the two videos, fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed receipt of German high-precision shells.
On July 14, Oleksiy Gromov, deputy chief of the Main Operative Directorate of the General Staff of the AFU, said at a briefing that the Ukrainian army is now actively using German shells SMArt 155 against Russian occupiers. According to him, the Armed Forces have already destroyed about 30 units of armored vehicles.
