Turkey said that it did not buy additional Russian S-400 surface-to-air missile systems
Russia announced the delivery of additional S-400 air defense systems to Turkey, but Ankara immediately denied it.
What we know
The military procurement agency denied information from the Russian side about the signing of a second contract for the supply of S-400 air defense systems. The Turkish agency states that there are no changes to the terms of the agreement signed in 2017.
The Turkish side added that the purchase of additional air defense systems during the war in Ukraine would cause conflict between NATO countries. In particular, the United States opposes it. By the way, the U.S. also wants to prevent India from buying Russian SAMs.
In conclusion we should add that Turkey bought the first regiment of air defense missile systems S-400 five years ago under the contract worth $2.5 billion, although NATO member states were against the deal due to incompatibility of the Alliance's weapons and Russia.
