The Ukrainian military told how the Tochka-U tactical missile system destroyed an airfield and the Russian ship Saratov
Ukrainian channel "1+1" published a story about the soldiers of the 19th Separate Missile Brigade "St. Barbara", who use tactical missile systems "Tochka-U".
What we know
This brigade is the only one in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which uses Tochka-U missile systems with the maximum launch range (120 km). Despite Western arms deliveries, this is still the longest-range weapon in the arsenal of the Ukrainian army.
Soldiers of the 19th missile brigade learned about the enemy's offensive two days before the full-scale invasion, so they were able to disperse the tactical complexes. They were able to strike the first blow against the positions of the Russian army on February 24, and the next day they destroyed several enemy planes and helicopters at the Millerovo airbase on the territory of Russia.
The Tochka-U tactical missile system is used only to attack important targets. In addition to the airbase in Russia, fighters of the 19th Brigade struck the airfield in Chornobaevka, Kherson Oblast, for the first time. One of the most interesting targets was the landing ship Saratov in temporarily occupied Berdyansk, Zaporozhye Oblast. It was sent to the bottom of the Sea of Azov back in late March.
