US sends four B-52 Stratofortress nuclear bombers closer to the Russian border
The United States intends to send four B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers, which can carry nuclear weapons, closer to Russia's borders.

And we're not talking about Alaska. A quartet of B-52 Stratofortressnuclear bombers will be sent to Europe. The first stop is a military air base in the United Kingdom. By the way, according to some reports, the planes have already arrived in Great Britain.
The United States will send the bombers, which are at Maynott Air Force Base in North Dakota, to Europe. In total, the fleet of the 5th Bomber Air Corps includes 26 B-52 Stratofortress strategic aircraft.

As a reminder, the B-52 Stratofortress is Boeing' s nuclear-powered bomber. As of 2021, the U.S. had 58 aircraft in service. The cost per bomber is several tens of millions of dollars.
The B-52 Stratofortress reaches a maximum flight speed of Mach 0.86 (957 km/h) and a ferry range of over 16,000 km. The strategic aircraft can carry a bomb load of up to 31,500 kg.
