US flagship USS Kearsarge Wasp class amphibious assault ship arrived in Lithuania
The United States has sent a USS Kearsarge landing ship to Lithuania.
What we know
The flagship of the United States' 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit became the largest U.S. Navy ship to visit Lithuania. USS Kearsarge arrived in the port of Klaipeda in the west of the countryon August 20.
This was stated by the U.S. Embassy in Lithuania on its page in Twitter. The message read s that USS Kearsarge arrived to show unity and solidarity with Lithuania and NATO allies. The landing ship will remain in the port of Klaipeda until August 23.

The USS Kearsarge is over 250 meters long and about 60 meters wide. The crew consists of more than 2,000 people. Ships and McDonnel Douglas AV-8b Harrier II fighters can be on board. The flagship is equipped with a Phalanx weapon system to defend against enemy ships and aircraft. It also carries RIM-116 Rolling Frame Missiles and the RIM-7 Sea Sparrow defense system.
