During the joint exercises of the United States and South Korea, Russia decided to stage a provocation in the Sea of Japan.

Here's What We Know

Russian media reported that two Tu-95 strategic missile carriers and two Su-30 fighter jets "conducted patrols of territory in the Sea of Japan." The planes were in the air for about seven hours. Russian propaganda claims that South Korea used U.S. F-16 fighter jets to intercept.

Seul claims that Russian fighters and bombers entered the air defense identification system. However, South Korea does not confirm that F-16s were used to intercept and escort the unwanted guests.
