Italy buys two $550 million Gulfstream G550-based spy planes
The Italian Air Force will receive two reconnaissance aircraft based on the Gulfstream G550 business jet.

The planes will be supplied by ELTA, a division of Israel Aerospace Industries. The contract amount was $550 million. Israel Aerospace Industries will also be engaged in maintenance and logistics support of aircraft.
The aircraft are based on Gulfstream G550. These aircraft were previously sold by Israel Aerospace Industries to the Singapore Air Force. They are equipped with radars and have electronic reconnaissance systems.
Flashback
In 2021 Italy ordered from Israel Aerospace Industries two aircraft CAEW, which serve as an early warning system. Thus, the total number of aircraft purchased from IAI, in service with the Italian Air Force has increased to four units.
