Two Russian planes entered the air defense identification zone of the United States and Canada
On September 12, a pair of Russian patrol aircraft entered the Alaskan and Canadian air defense identification zones. The North American Aerospace Defense Command was able to track and identify both aircraft.
Details
The agency notes that the two aircraft did not pose a threat. In addition, their appearance was not regarded as a provocation. They remained in international airspace. The sovereign borders of the United States and Canada were not violated. To ensure national security, the US monitors the airspace at a distance of 160 km from its border.
Remember that at the end of summer Germany Germany launched two Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft to intercept Russian MiG-31, Su-27 and Il-62M fighters to intercept Russian planes in Europe. In a few days the MiG-31, Su-27 and Il-62M violated the airspace of the Baltic States.
